Research the role of the financial manager. Focus on the management rather than the accounting function.

Identify a financial manager in a company, local or oversees. Show her/his position on the organizational chart of the company for which she/he works. Describe a typical day or week of work for the financial manager including the people and institutions with which he/she spends most of his/her time.

Write a short report. ( 600 words) outlining the role of the financial manager and summarizing your findings above.

Give a 3 minute oral report on your findings.

Part B 5 Marks

Given a set of financial statements derive the following ratios and comment on the meaning of each;

• Return on assets
• Return on equity
• Average Collection Period
• Current Ratio
• Debt to total assets
• Times interest earned.
