Class ITEC283 Cisco
Semester 2
- Khalid
used the white board and a PowerPoint game plus a Cisco router simulation
during the lesson so he had varied and interesting visual aids
- The
class started with Khalid explaining how the class would proceed and
discussing upcoming assignments and student tasks.
- Students
were reminded of various tasks they needed to complete including work on a
discussion board that represented blended e-learning.
- A warm
atmosphere with good rapport between instructor and students existed in
the class. Khalid uses humor and activities to keep students interested.
- A game
was used to re-enforce content that had been taught previously. Students reacted enthusiastically to the
game and were all engaged. It was
obvious that they were learning from the activity.
- The
game mentioned involved and very nice Powerpoint adaptation with
hyperlinks. Obviously a lot of
thought had gone into the design and building of the game to give an
interesting, fun and useful learning experience for the students.
- After
the game a Cisco router simulator was used to further explain some points
that were raised during the game. Students interacted with this demo.
- Students
then provided some questions on the course material which were then
answered for the whole class.
Summary:
Khalid uses a range of teaching
aides some o which are quite intricate to effectively provide an innovative
lesson which was fun for the students and which they learned from.
