Peer Feedback on the
lesson:
- Hussein
has a good rapport with the students.
Individual students are addressed and all are included in
discussion.
- Students
come prepared with notes to the class
- Teacher
uses visual aids of whiteboard, projector (with Cisco material) and actual
networking equipment. Cisco visual aides include graphics and movement and
are used effectively to make a point in answer to a student question.
- Lesson
is interactive with high level of student involvement.
- Students
are confident to bring up discussion points
- Socratic
questioning used as a means to involve students and stimulate thinking and
discussion.
- Questions
and answers are drawn out of students rather than feeding theory to
students.
- Students
are encouraged to think critically and respond.
- Classroom
environment feels open and encourages student involvement
- Classroom
is neatly and effectively organised. Equipment and visual aides are
effectively used together.
- Student
understanding is checked frequently by questioning directed to individual
students.
- Technical
content of lesson is high but students show a solid understanding which is
tested through discussion and questioning.
- Class
control is good and is based on respect and firmness.
Summary:
I found this lesson very useful to me as a model for
teaching and learning of technical material.
Students were for the most part prepared for the lesson as they had done
some prior reading. Students were and
encouraged and confident in joining the discussion it was obvious that learning
was taking place.
