Fun Drive Feb 20 2004

I drove through the day before.. Took me 4 hours from the Intercontinental Hotel in Al Ain to the Jebel Ali hotel.  It was great I was wearing my Pakistani or Afghan gear. This is very comfortable in the desert and it keeps the sand out.  Just need a bit of a shake at the end and it is all out.

I saw 7 gazelles on the trip (this was near Jebel Ali) and I pulled out one stuck car.  A gulf News van that strayed off a hard track..

Then the real fun drive.  I spent 8 hours doing recovery from a bowl on stage 4.  Drove many cars out, pulled a few more out. Got stuck on the edge of a dune.  All of that was ok.  But I dropped my camera in the sand and now I am really crying. So I have no photos of the 21st of Feb which was a really amazing day out.  That was the day I climbed the steep face of Big Red for the first time...

Here are the photos before the sand incident.
